Sample Lesson Plans

During my student teaching experience, I developed a series of engaging lesson plans for math, English Language Arts (ELA), science, and social studies. Each plan is tailored to foster student participation and enhance understanding of key concepts. From hands-on activities in science to interactive reading sessions in ELA, my lesson plans aim to create a dynamic learning environment that caters to diverse learning styles. I'm excited to share these resources that reflect my commitment to effective teaching and student success!

In this integrated lesson plan for 5th grade, students explored the Revolutionary War through the lens of persuasive writing. They engaged in discussions about key figures and events, analyzing their significance in shaping American history. Following this, students crafted persuasive essays advocating for or against the actions during the war, using historical evidence to support their viewpoints This approach not only enhanced their understanding of the social studies topic but also strengthened their writing skills in a meaningful context.

In this adapted 4th-grade science lesson plan, students explore the world of sound waves through interactive activities and experiments. Aligned with NGSS 3-dimensional standards, the lesson emphasizes engaging hands-on learning, where students investigate how sound is produced, travels, and can be manipulated. By incorporating collaborative group work and technology, learners will enhance their understanding of sound waves while developing critical thinking skills. This dynamic approach ensures that all students can and thrive in their exploration of sound.

In this engaging 5th grade lesson plan, students will dive into the world of adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators. The lesson emphasizes rigor through challenging problem-solving tasks and real-world applications, ensuring that students grasp the concept deeply. To enhance understanding, hands-on activities such as fraction manipulatives and interactive group work will allow students to practice their skills collaboratively. This dynamic approach not only reinforces their learning but also fosters a love for mathematics.
